What We're Reading

The novel we are working through is "The One and Only Ivan, The One and Only," by Katherine Applegate.

Begin Reading

What is a narrator?

The narrator is the person (or animal!) who tells the story. The narrator’s voice is the one we hear when we read the book. Sometimes the narrator is a character in the story, and sometimes it’s someone outside the story who just tells what happens.

Example

  • In The One and Only Ivan, Ivan the gorilla is the narrator because he is the one telling us the story.
